Service Blue Angel Projects PATCH PROGRAM [2008-09] You
do not have to complete the projects any specific order. Simply choose
any 3 projects you would like to complete. 1. Crayons: Collect school supplies, create a card, an art project for others OR assist children. Suggested organizations; Color a Smile, operation smile, elderly/assisted living homes, or pediatric wards. Other special projects to complete with crayons: Don't forget to decorate a pinwheel and plant it on International Peace Day. Click here for more information 2. Balloon: Prepare a celebration for Childrens hospital or elderly; create birthday bags for those in need. Contact your local food banks, foster care agencies or hospitals to create a birthday bag for children. [items to include in the bag themed paper plates, cups, napkins, balloons, and a small toy. Label it boy or girl and the age. Donate it to the facility.] Other special projects to complete in October: Don�t forget to collect glasses for sight night on October 31. Free flyers available on line. 3. Candy: Create seasonal gift bags, stockings, or baskets for hospitals, soldiers, etc. Collect or purchase candy making sure some is sugarfree for elderly. Divide among the clear bags, secure with a twist tie and deliver to the facilty, mail to soliders, or children. Other special projects to completein November: Don�t forget to Participate in the Let Us Give Thanks Patch Program. Free leaf patterns for crafts are available on line. 4. Cans: Collect or donate food. Other suggestions: Work at a food pantry, help stock shelves, sort food, prepare meals for the homeless, etc 5. Gift: Adopt a family, soldier, donate to the bike program, stockings for soliders or children OR participate in Operation Christmas Child. 6. Rocking Chair: Adopt a grandparent, assist the elderly, visit a nursing home. Other Suggestions: Play BINGO with the elderly, create blankets for them, or seasonal cards. 7. Bread: Help at a soup kitchen, create or donate bread for the needy, prepare meals, and donate food. Focus on hunger locally, nationally, or internationally. 9. Flower: Decorate flowerpots or complete any outdoor landscaping. Examples: Watershed clean-up, mother's gifts for the domestic abuse or elderly home, flower pins, and planting flowers at school. 10. Stars: Choose a project of your choice.
