Note: The patch program is a guideline for the symbols that are presented on the patch. You can substitute other projects that represent these symbols. Each project does not need to be completed in specific order. The months noted are only suggested months to complete the projects. You can also have a community event and complete 3 projects in a day. Invite others to assist at your event. Example: Collect hats and mittens, food, and make shoeboxes for operation Christmas Child at your event.

OCTOBER - (Mittens and Hat) Collect hats, mittens, socks, and coats for the less fortunate. Make sure they are gently worn coats. Donate them to the homeless, children, and other community facilities that give back to the community. Don’t forget to collect glasses for sight night on October 31. Free flyers available on line.

NOVEMBER - (yellow ribbon) Donate items for holiday gifts for soldiers overseas.  You can also sew stockings for the soldiers and stuff them. Look under we support the troops for more information on assisting the troops overseas.

DECEMBER – (box) Operation Christmas Child . Collect a shoebox of items for children all across the world that otherwise would not have a Christmas present. Other projects that you can participate on your own are adopt a child, toys for tots, or Angel Tree.

JANUARY – (envelope) Mail letters or cards to soldiers, teachers, elderly, or write to pen pals. Collect stamps for the missionary program. (Stamps can be mailed here and we will distribute items to the program) mail your stamps to Patchwork Designs and could also earn a stamp ministry patch. (More information under the stamp ministry)

FEBRUARY– (heart) Make cards or valentines for the children's hospital or elderly homes. Collect valentine cards and puzzle books to give to children who may not afford otherwise these items.

Volunteer at a local shelter or prepare food for the less fortunate. Prepare a picnic for unprivileged children. Create baskets for Ronald McDonald house.

MAY– (bear) Donate teddy bears. If they are going to be gifts then they would need to be new. Police stations, hospitals etc. give them to traumatized children.  Please view various websites on how you can stuff and create your own.  You would not ’t need one per person. They could all help stuff and tie ribbons around their necks etc.
(About $8.95 each on this site to stuff your own.)

JUNE- (broom) Clean up an area, pick up litter,  landscape, or complete an outdoor community service item.
